Video

Ever since we brought the baby home my hands have been full and Trey has been watching more TV then usual. Much more then I would like him to. I was worried that he is not getting enough exercise until he started to act out what he sees on the screen. This is a video of him watching an action sequences from The Incredibles. Who says TV contributes to childhood obesity? You just got watch the right stuff.

Blessing

Today we blessed Smith. We wanted to do it while Nate's parents were still here. We were also able to have a few friends and some other family come as well.

I couldn't resist taking one of those 4 generation pictures while I had the chance. Above we have Nate's Dad Nathan, Grandpa Smith Broadbent ( the one we named the baby after) My Nate and of course baby Smith. That's one of the draw backs of using family names. It can get a little confusing at family gatherings.

Look at that! I got all three bothers here! This is tricky to do cause even though we all live in Utah, at leaset for another month or two, we are not usally all in the same place. And of course, because I was the one with the camera, I didn't make it in to any of the picutres.

These are a few of the guys that Nate gets to work with each week. Handsome bunch. I thought the balloons, sport and skateboarding cakes were cool, but not appropriate for a baby blessing. The stork was probably the best choice.

Special Delivery

This morning I got a call from Scott. Apparently he had bought some snakes as a "congrats on starting school" gift to himself. Unfortunately there was a mix up with the shipping/billing address and they were sent to Utah and not Indiana. Scott was VERY concerned about their well being and I agreed to camp out in front of his in-laws house until the FebEx guy arrived. I admit that i was kind of excited to see what he got. This is what I found, 6 baby boas in a variety of colors. Very Fun.
I only kept them for a couple hours before I mailed them off again. I was tempted to keep one as payment for all my trouble.

On my own - kind of

Yesterday and today were the first days since I had the baby that Nate has gone back to work and left me alone with the kids. (still kind of weird to say kids). Untill now I have had my mom and/or dad here when he's at work. So I cheated and took Trey to daycare. Evenings are the hardest part of the day so I thought I better rest up while I had the chance.

Things went pretty well. We watched a movie and even played with the dogs outside for a bit. At 8 o'clock things got tricky. Smith was ready for his usual evening 2 hour marathon feeding. I had to drag Trey back inside and into the bath, then I had to drag him kicking and screaming out of the bath. Then I gave him a big glass of sour milk, oops! Then we read books while I was holding Smith. Big mistake. Trey kept poking him in the eye and pulling on his feet. So we said prayers and put Trey to bed while Smith cried in the other room (at least he was safe).

I finally got Smith to bed at 10:30. Luckily he slept soundly until 5am. However, thanks to the sour milk Trey did not. Hopefully tonight will go better.

Boating

On monday we went boating. So fun! It was just short of 2 weeks after Smith was born. Maybe a little sooner then I should be boating, but my parents were in town and they offered to watch the baby. Not to mention I had only been out of the house one other time to take Smith to a Dr appointment and I needed a break.

It was trey's first time on the boat this year. He was a little scared at first when the boat started to move. But any time there is a chance of drowning, Trey is having fun, and in the end he was loving it.
