My sweat crazy wife in the spring.

So at some point this morning I rolled over to snuggle my sweet Julie but she was gone. I thought that she had moved to get away from my snoring, but that was not the case. Julie had become fed up with the lovely song of a morning spring Robin. So she decided that It needed to DIE or the next best thing to fly far away. What did she do you ask? Well pre-dawn she went out side and gathered up a bunch of rocks and went on a sleep deprived rage to kill all the nice birds that sang. Julie was able to move the bird from one tree in the yard to the next tree. She did this dance for a few minutes until it flew away. Julie proudly announced that the bird was inches from certain death. Julie will be armed with my paintball gun next time some stupid bird come ah callin'.

NOTE: First of all I would like to thank Nate for contributing to our blog. Even if the first story he shares makes me sound like a crazy person.

Second I would like to point out that same bird has been showing up at my window at 5:30 AM for a week! And I don't think that 5:30 is an appropriate time of day to be woken up any day of the week, least of all on a Sunday. --julie

Have a Picky Eater?

Why not try sauerkraut?
It's fun to eat,
and tastes great!
Even though he made lots of weird faces, and often had to close his eyes as he took a bite, he willingly ate two plates of the stuff. It was like watching fear factor. I knew he didn't like it, but he just kept going.

Before...

These are my before shots. Hopefully in 4 or 5 months I will get to post a picture of a large, green, weed free and successful garden with baskets and baskets of delicious vegetables that my family just can't wait to gobble up.

I like to try a few unusual things each year, just for fun. This year I picked purple carrots, cheese squash, and red yard long bean (the pods will actually get up to 3 feet long!).

Here's the rest of the menu: Sweet onions, scallions, butternut squash, cucumbers, crookneck, zucchini, beans, and carrots. In additions to the seeds above, I plan to plant a few tomatoes and peppers.

Rugby

Tonight we went a rugby game at BYU. It was BYU (obviously) vs. UVU Alumni. Originally we were hoping Nate would get to play too, but it didn't work out. My brother Dave does play for BYU, so we got to watch him instead. I have NO talent for photography, especially not sports and action photography. But I did my best.

Here is a scrum. I think Dave is the bum on the far left. :)

Here is another one of Dave. He is in the middle-back. you can see all of his body and his ear, but not his face. Like I said, no talent for this stuff.
Here he is again. Number 18.
This time i got his face, but no action.

Here is the score board in the final seconds of the game. It reads HOME (BYU) 1 and GUEST (UVU) 12. I'll leave it to you to figure out what that really means.

Playing Pretend

Sometimes I feel like this blog isn't really about me and Nate, it's really just about Trey. But he is the most entertaining thing going on in our lives right now.

Anyway, Trey likes to pretend he is a dog sometimes. Today we may have let him take it a little to far...For the record, I was not present for this or I would have stopped it, not taken a picture.

My Body

I made a poster for trey that has an outline of a boy on it. Then we have cutouts of body parts and clothing items. The idea is to place all the body parts and clothes in the right places on the poster. Trey loved it! We played it once on the poster. Then Trey laid down and put the cutouts on top of him. Then I laid down, and we did it again. We each took several turns. I was really fun.

Sorry about the crappy photo. I had to be quick, so I used my phone.

My Boys

Smith is pulling himself to stand on anything he can get his hands on! I'm still in denial. Wasn't he just born the other day? He's way to little to be doing this stuff.

I don't really remember what he was eating, but it must have be good.
Love the Superman cape, but we need to work on the muscles.

It's my Birthday!

I had a birthday on Wednesday. Yeah! I thought I would be sneaky and call in sick to work. I was to chicken to actually call so I just sent an email that morning. The reply was "Okay. Have fun, happy birthday" I guess i wasn't as sneaky as I thought.
One thing I do know is that if you are going to play hooky from work/school, you got to make it count! So Nate and I took the boys to daycare, and met some friends at the Canyons for a day of snowboarding. It was a blast!

Other highlights of the day:
- Smith falling asleep in my arms at bedtime. That hardly ever happens anymore.
- A couple of my former bosses calling and singing, yes singing Happy Birthday to me.
- Pizza and strawberry shortcake for dinner. Yum!
One of my favorite runs in through some tree off Red Pine Rd. Here Nate is showing off for me by riding across a tree that had fallen over a river. The video doesn't really do it justice. I'm pretty sure there were alligators in the river too. Sweet!
