Let the Halloween Fun Begin!
Monday was the first of three Halloween parties this week. This one was at the fire station. It was great. Trey was a Fire Fighter, Smith was a Skunk and I was a witch.

All the kids and adults that dressed up. Nate (on the right) is holding Smith and a friends daughter. This is the only picture I managed to get of Smith. Oops. Good thing we have two more parties coming. (Trey is middle-left)
Trey and his buddy Riley
I guess I wasn't the only one to think a fire fighter was a cute idea.

Bad Mom Moment
Good news, this time it's not blood. Bad new, nail polish is a lot harder to clean up.
Another Bad-Mom-Moment today. I was rushing to get ready before my visiting teacher showed up and Smith as usual was begging for attention. So I gave him a bottle of nail polish to play with. I only need 3 minutes and he can't get the lib off, so were safe right?
Next thing I know he has smashed the bottle on the tile and hot pink nail polish is EVERYWHERE!
I frantically checked him for cuts, were good. But he is dripping in hot pink! I better wash it off, but nail polish doesn't wash off, it just smears all over him, all over me, my tile floor and all over my sink! Now it's starting to dry and I have to clean it up before gets hard, but I can't put Smith down cause he is still sticky... I really did feel like a chicken with it's head cut off.
This is nothing! It didn't occur to me at first that other people might find humor in my pain. So I had most of it cleaned up before I thought to take a picture.
Smith didn't want to hold still for a photo either. Nail polish covered the bottom of one foot, all of the other and a few splatters on his shins. Oh and most of my hand too. It's mostly worn off now, except for his toe nails. Nate usually gets mad when I paint the boys toe nails, but this time he did it to himself.
The tile is clean and I was going to repaint the door anyway, but if anyone can tell me how to get nail polish out of grout I will buy you dinner.

Zoo Day
We went to the Zoo with our friends and their daughter. We had a blast! There are a lot of baby animals right now at the Zoo. So Cute! Here are some of the highlights.
We rode the train. I last rode the zoo train about 15 years ago. I remember it being longer and having a lot more animals. But Trey at least seemed to really like it.
The Crew. This is right after Trey ran off and we thought he was lost. I had a little panic attack, he was only gone for 5 or 6 minutes, but still. We found him happily looking at the baby tigers.
Cutest baby was the baby elephant.
Trey and Gwen really hit it off. I always hated it when my mom would try to "set me up." I never liked the boys she liked, but I really think I've picked a good one.

Nobody makes me bleed my own blood...
It finally happened. I knew it was coming. Trey and Smith got in a fight and there was blood. It was a small scuffle. Trey was looking at a book and Smith touched it. Trey yelled "No touching!" and threw the book at him.
I ordered Trey to say sorry. He went in for a hug, stopped and said "Uh-oh, broken." That's when I noticed Smith was gushing blood. I'm not sure Trey realized that he broke the baby, but he did seem concerned. He kept fetching me tissues long after the bleeding stopped and encouraged me to "fix it." I think Smith is going to be fine. The scar, if any, will be very small. This photo was taken about an hour after the incident. Still oozing a bit, but he was all smiles again.

St. George Marathon
After Vegas we went to St. George. We spent the night in our tent trailer in Nate's friend's, business partner's driveway, whom I have never met. That was interesting. The next morning Nate left at 4:30am to get ready for the race. The boys and I showed up about 20 minuets before Nate crossed the finish. He did great! 4 hours 11 minutes. And he looked great! He ran it with several of his fire department friends.
Here he is with Josh and Jeff at the finish.
I'm not really sure what is going on here. I think Trey took this shot. It looks like Nate and Josh are really interested in Jeff's, um, number.
So proud of him!

The night before the race they had a free climbing tower set up. Trey loved it! He made it up about six feet. I don't know why I was surprised. He started climbing up things before he could walk.

Our Trip Part One
Last week we set out on a little family road trip. Our first stop was two nights in Zions National Park. Beautiful! Loved it! Wish you were here. But I misplaced my camera and don't have a single picture of those two days. Doh!
Then we went to Vegas, and I found my camera. Vola! There is lots to do in Vegas on a budget. We tried to hit all the free stuff, and there is plenty of it in Vegas. Here are some of the highlights.
Volcano erupting at the Mirage.
Trey was a little scared of the fire and clung tight to Nate, but he was asking for more when it was over, so we came back an hour later to see it again.
Two strollers on the Strip at night is a rare sight.
Smith made the show girls on Fremont street swoon and they gave him some of their beads.
Trey and I in front of the "Fire Fighter Boat" at New York New York. Trey is still talking about it.
MGM Grand fish. Julie - "How many nemo fish do you see?" Trey - "Three!"
Trey started closing his eyes everytime he hear "Say Cheese"
We saw Lions at the MGM Grand. They came right up to the window. So Cool! You can't get this close at the Zoo.
M&M Store
Waiting for the fountains. We also saw the fish and a show at Caesar's Palace, Tram ride from Excalibur to Mandalay Bay and the Pirate show at Treasure Island.
