Week One 2012

My plan it to start blogging again. It's been MONTHS! I love reading other peoples blogs, especially blogs of those that live far away or I don't see often. And I really love having a record of the year. I just have gotten really out of the habit. So here goes Week one of 2012!

Let's start with New Years Eve. The plan was to go to Provo's First Night. Nate get's in for free and they start at 6pm so we could be in and out with the kids before they get to cranky. However, the night before Nate started throwing up, and kept it up (no pun intended) till morning. The next day, he was weak and spent most of the day in bed. So we put the boys to bed at the normal time and went to bed early ourselves. At midnight our next door neighbors came out with music and fireworks. Smith slept through it. Trey woke up as started calling for me. When I went to his room he said. "There's a parade outside and we are missing it!" Cute! I put a chair next to the window so he could watch it and told him to climb back in bed when it was over. (I know I am the best mom, but it was a long day) I went back to bed, kissed Nate, and slept through the rest. Happy New Year!!!

Other fun things this week. They finally started the garage! They dug a big hole in the back yard and then poured cement this week. The weather could not have been better. It actually got up to 50 degrees the day they poured, in January! It was perfect! The boys loved watching the workers come, especially the trucks. But I think the happiest one was Nate. We have been talking about this for years and trying to get it done for months, and it is finally happening.

And Octo-Pops! The boys saw the recipe in the back of a Nate The Great Book and had to have them. They were so excited when I pulled them out of the freezer. They ate all the pop, but none of the worms.
