Allergic?

Before

After - red splotchy

Next Day - swollen face

Smith seems to be allergic to sunscreen. Shortly after putting it on he breaks out in what I think are hives. His face gets very red and splotchy, and his eyes and nose run. The next day his face is swollen. So far we have tried at least 6 different brands, including several "for babies", hypoallergenic and for sensitive skin. So far all of them have eventually ended in badly. This week we went to the pool and used one that had worked once before, but this time, not so much. Poor kid.

Poor kid and poor you. You can't very well keep him out of the sun. Have you talked to your pediatrician?

Have you seen this article? Interesting, and it has a link to all the good 'organic' type sunscreens. Maybe it'll be helpful!

That is horrible for him and very frustrating for you. Call a dermatologist or your pediatrician?! Good luck.
