We made it to South Carolina and back again. YEAH! As I am sure you all know I was very worried about the flight out there. We left at midnight. It was not fun for me at all! The kids selpt about half of the time which is about as good as I could have hoped for. With the help of a few saintly strangers we made it there. I showed up in baggage claim with Trey strapped into his car seat, the car seat strapped to the stroller, Smith strapped to my chest and an overstuffed backpack on my back. (I brought way to much stuff on the plane) We were all very tired and ready to be done. Just as we enter the parking garage my mother turns to me as says "You know I didn't even look to see what section I was parked in, I hope I can find it..." At one point she left me and the kids to search on her own. I called to check on her progress and I could hear the car alarm, but she still couldn't find it. After 45 minutes, much wondering about, and a little cursing she found the car.
Once we got to Nana and Papa's house we had a blast! Trey loved playing pin ball and swimming in the pool. And I loved being able to relax and pass the baby off to my parents. The main reason we went out was to see my Dad after his surgery. He is feeling much better and doing great! It was really nice to spend so much time with him. And as a bonus, Jill and her kids came down for the weekend too, so I got to see Alaina for the first time.
Here are some pictures from the trip. I tried to post different one then Jill did, so you can check here blog for more pictures.

The flight home was a little easier. My mom and her friend flew out with me so I had some more help. It's a good thing too because on the last leg of the flight we had to make an emergency landing in Denver because a woman on the flight had a really bad allergic reaction. That was a first for me. I've missed flights, been delayed on the ground and in the air, but never had to make an unscheduled landing. Good news is the lady is going to be fine. And if anyone is thinking about flying with a toddler. I recommend bringing the car seat on the plane. Huge hassel, but totally worth it.

Congratulations on making it through! Glad your dad is doing well. Your boys are so stinking cute!
I am dying laughing about losing the car at the airport. After the flight you just had... that is the last thing you need. Totally, 100%, and completely agree with the car seat on the plane. I think I will bring one in November and put Willa in it and have Iris sit on our laps. It would be a lot smoother than the alternative.
Julie it was so fun to see you last weekend! I can't wait for Thanksgiving!
